We discover the World Heritage Site of Wat Phou and ride on the back of an elephant to the ancient temple of Phou Asa, from where we have great views over the ecologically significant Xepian wetlands.
  • Bolaven Plateau: The landscape of the Bolaven Plateau with its spectacular waterfalls is breathtaking. Its cool climate and fertile soils are ideal for high grade coffee cultivation. Other important agricultural products include fruit, cardamom and rattan. In contrast to the idyll today, we have to be aware that the plateau has been one of the most heavily bombed areas in Laos during the Second Indochina War not so long time ago.
  • Phou Khong Mountain Experience: Phou Khong Mountain overlooks Laos and Thailand territories. The landscape is characterized by unusual rocky cropping up rocks. The area is known for its rare orchid species. There are general interesting cultural, natural and religious sites on the Phou Khong. It is a moderate 4 hours hike.
  • Ta Ong Trail/ Trekking in Xe Pian NPA: Xe Pian National Protected Area (NPA) is one of the major nature reserves in Laos. It is particularly important for its extensive wetlands. The first two days of this program are set aside for trekking through the forests of this NPA with an overnight stay in the ethnic minority village Ta On inside the park. Ban Kiet Ngong, on the other hand, is a village located at the edge of the Xe Pian wetlands.
  • The Lao Coffee Capital: During these 2 days of trekking you will experience the Tad Fane waterfall and Dong Hua Sao National Protected Area (NPA). Tad Fane is one of the most spectacular waterfalls in Laos, with parallel arms of the Houay Bang Lieng River plunging out of dense forest 120 meters down .
