
Lao people’s Army History Museum was first founded on January 20.1976. It was then called “Lao People’s Liberation Army Exhibtion hall”.
– On January 20.1984 Changed the name to “Lao People’s Army Museum”.
– On November 30.2005 and given its name as “Lao People’s Army History Museum” In 2018, it was updated again and opened on December 13.2023. Which includes 6 major sections:
– Part I: Country-people and tradition of fighting foreign invaders.
– Part II: The Army and the lao people fought against the French colonialisn from 1893-1954.
– Part III: Resistance war against U.S imperialists 1955-1975.
– Part IV: Lao People’s Army in implementation of national defense and construction cause 1976 – present.
– Part V: Exhibition of leading vehicles and theaters simulating major battles..
– Part VI: Outdoor exhibition of armed vehicles of the revolutionary forces and of the opposition in the past.

Lao people’s Army was born in the wave of revolution and was officially Established on January 20. 1949 It aims to fight to bring independence and freedom to the country, for the Benefits and well-being of the people of all ethnic group. The armed forces of the lao people have been trained in the flames of a long revolutionary struggle, worked in a great battle together with then lao people of the patriot tribes to defeat the Frech Colonialists and American. Able to liberate the country successfully.
Throughout the past 75 years, the Lao People’s Army has completed the tasks assigned by the party-state and the people, as the main force to protect the independence, sovereignty and complete territory of the country.
Therefore, the party-state and the people awarded the title of heroic Army and awarded the national gold medal which is the highest medal of the Lao PDR of 5 units to the lao people’s army.
