Phou Bia has been temporarily closed to visitors due to heavy rainfall and dangerous trail conditions.

Authorities in Xaysomboun Province announced that all tourism activities to Phou Bia are suspended until further notice after continuous rain caused slippery paths, soil erosion, and fallen trees along the route.

Officials said the closure applies to both domestic and international visitors and is intended to reduce the risk of accidents during the rainy season. Authorities advised visitors not to attempt the climb until authorities officially announce that access has reopened
